Manchester United return to winning ways with victory over Burnley

Turf Moor, September 25, 2023 - Manchester United returned to winning ways with a 1-0 victory over Burnley in the Premier League's fifth round.

The home side started the match on the front foot, and Jay Rodriguez came close to scoring in the 17th minute, but the post denied him.

In the 25th minute, Manchester United took the lead through Jonny Evans, but the goal was ruled out for offside against Rasmus Håland.

The first half ended goalless, but Manchester United took the lead in the 45th minute when Bruno Fernandes scored a brilliant goal.

Manchester United dominated possession in the second half, but they were unable to add to their lead.

With this win, Manchester United moved up to ninth place in the Premier League table with nine points. Burnley remain bottom of the table with one point.
